How EKPraat! handles your data
EKPraat! uses your account and learning data to sign you in, sync your lessons across devices, track progress like streaks and weekly activity, save your selected in-app avatar, and deliver learning features. We do not sell your personal data.
What we collect
Depending on how you use the app, EKPraat! may store your email address, display name, selected in-app avatar, lesson progress, XP, streak, hearts, gems, daily and weekly activity, notifications, and learning preferences such as reminder time or daily goal.
How the app uses that data
- Firebase Authentication signs you in and keeps your session active.
- Cloud Firestore stores user stats, progress, notifications, and synced activity.
- Cloud Functions support server-side features like payment confirmation and AI-backed help.
- Lesson time, streak, and XP data are used to show your progress inside the app.
Payments and AI features
Paid plan upgrades currently use a PayFast web checkout flow. EKPraat! does not store your bank card details in this web app. If you use AI-assisted features, the prompts you send may be securely relayed through EKPraat! backend services to generate a response. You can report an AI response inside the AI tutor so EKPraat! can review safety or quality concerns.
Account deletion
You can request deletion from inside the app by opening Settings → Delete Account. Deleting your account removes your Firebase Authentication account, synced user profile, lesson progress, in-app notifications, and selected avatar preference.
If you no longer have the app, use the public account-deletion request form. We will verify ownership before deleting the account permanently. All progress will be lost.
Data sharing and retention
EKPraat! uses service providers such as Firebase and PayFast to run the app. We do not sell your personal data. Data is retained only as long as needed to provide the service or until you delete your account, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
